At The Commercial Flooring Company, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that a strong culture of health and safety not only protects our team but ensures the successful delivery of projects to the highest standards, keeping our clients satisfied.

Team Ethos and Culture

Our success begins with our dedicated team and a robust team ethos. We maintain an open-door policy, fostering communication and collaboration. Team bonding days strengthen our bonds, while our modern, adaptable work culture ensures our staff can thrive while delivering excellence to our clients.

Health & Safety Advisory

We prioritize health and safety through a close partnership with Scott Keegan, our external Health and Safety Consultant from KestralQAS. Scott keeps us updated on the latest H&S regulations, which are then communicated to our teams through Toolbox Talks and updated H&S policies.

Our Health and Safety Approach

Our approach to health and safety is pragmatic and proportionate. We prioritize according to risk to maintain continuous improvement. While we can't eliminate all risks, we manage them to control exposure to hazards as reasonably as possible.

Our Commitment

The Commercial Flooring Company is committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions, complying with statutory requirements and industry best practices. This commitment extends to all employees, subcontractors, and anyone affected by our operations.

Our Policy Aims

  • Conduct business in compliance with current health and safety legislation.

  • Prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to health to meet our responsibilities as an employer.

  • Provide safe working environments without risks to health, safety, and welfare.

  • Ensure employees play an active role in health and safety.

  • Conduct risk assessments and communicate effectively regarding hazardous materials (COSHH).

Monitoring and Review

We conduct regular reviews and audits of our procedures, employee roles, and training to ensure our commitment to safety remains unwavering. All employees are inducted within our training process, and Scott Keegan reviews our policies and procedures regularly to keep us up-to-date with regulations.

Operatives and Certifications

Our highly skilled team, with over 30 years of experience, is the backbone of our success. We ensure all operatives hold CSCS Cards, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, and Face Fit Certificates. New operatives complete surveys to gauge their readiness.

Risk Assessment and Safety

We carry out site-specific risk assessments and comply with site managers' procedures. Additionally, we perform on-site checklists, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and engage in regular training and communication regarding health and safety.

Roles and Training

Our team includes Managing Directors, Operations and Commercial Directors, Regional Directors, Supervisors, and Operatives, each with distinct responsibilities. Training is ongoing, covering safety awareness and procedures, and we promote mental health and well-being.
